Due to forecasted temperatures for today, our  concert for tonight, July 20, 2022, will be held at Simsbury Farms to allow both the audience and the band to be shaded during the performance.  We hope to see you there!  Concert begins at 7:00pm

The Simsbury Community Band is inviting you to attend an open rehearsal on Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 3:00-4:30pm at Covenant Presbyterian Church (The Barn).

Although we would have loved to be able to perform a Spring Concert, the time frame that we had for rehearsals was shortened after the holidays.  We hope that you will be able to attend our open rehearsal and see what we do to make the music happen.

Our concert will be held today, December 12, 2021 at 3:00pm
The live performance will be at Covenant Presbyterian Church (The Barn)

The church does not require masks but we suggest you do what makes you feel comfortable in that regard.

The Simsbury Community Band will be having a virtual holiday concert on December 13, 2020 at 3:00pm.
While we are disappointed that we are still unable to perform live for you, our music director, Ertan Sener will be hosting a virtual concert with video clips of past holiday performances.

We hope this message finds you and your family well and successfully coping with the current situation caused by the COVID-19 virus.
 
We are sure you share our disappointment that our spring concert, scheduled for April 5, had to be cancelled due to the current pandemic.  We hope to get back to practicing for our summer programs, on the optimistic assumption that the situation will improve by then.  Realistically, however, we realize that restrictions may remain in place for some time and that we could be forced to cancel the rest of the season.
 
Music is an important part of our lives and a balm for the soul in these troubled times.  We are encouraging our members to keep playing their instruments and finding good music to listen too.  To that end we are placing videos of some of our recent concerts on line with links from our website.  We hope you can make use of them and enjoy a virtual concert from time to time.
 
As with most arts organizations, the curtailing of our ability to perform has made a hit on our budget.  As always we appreciate financial support from our friends.  If you would like to contribute, mail a check to Simsbury Community Band, P.O. Box 201, Simsbury, CT 06070.
 
And we do plan to go ahead with plans to participate in celebrations of the 350th anniversary of the Town of Simsbury, in whatever form these activities will now take place.
